WHEATGERM Triticum vulgare
Wheatgerm is most often used in small proportions with other oils because it provides Vitamin E which acts as a preservative.
It has the highest content of Vitamin E of all carrier oils at about 250IU per ounce. It also contains provitamin A and D, lecithin and a high content of unsaturated fatty acid compounds.
The consistency is slightly thick and it has a mild odour.
Wheatgerm improves the penetration of other oils and gives the skin added elasticity.
It is most beneficial in mixtures for wrinkles, stretch marks and dry skin.
