Country of Origin:  Brazil

Plant Parts Used: Resin

Extraction Method:  Essential oil is collected by dry distillation from the crude balsam.

Physical Characteristics:  Viscous, yellowy-brown or greenish grey liquid

Aroma:  The crude balsam has a mild and woody slightly spicy odor, where the oil has a mild sweet, balsamic-peppery odour.

Main Note:  Base Note

Main Constituents: 90% caryophyllene

Blends With: Cananga, ylang ylang, vanilla, jasmine, violet and other florals.

Cautions: Relatively non-toxic, non-irritant, possible sensitization.  Large doses cause vomiting and diarrhea.
