Jojoba oil, which is actually a wax, is extracted from the seeds of the Jojoba shrub that is found in South Western United States, Israel, and Argentina.  Due to the fact that it is a wax, Jojoba oil does not turn rancid which makes it an excellent choice for a base oil. 

Jojoba may go cloudy in cool temperatures but it will return to its clear state once warm.
